Biography:
Prior to joining the faculty at Washington University in 2001, Professor Agarwal was the Chair of the Aerospace Engineering Department at Wichita State University from 1994 to 1996 and the Executive Director of National Institute for Aviation Research from 1996 to 2001. From 1994 to 2001, he was also the Bloomfield Distinguished Professor at Wichita State University. From 1978 to 1994, Professor Agarwal worked in various scientific and managerial positions at McDonnell Douglas Research Laboratories in St. Louis. He became the Program Director and McDonnell Douglas Fellow in 1990. From 1976 to 1978, Professor Agarwal worked as a NRC Research Associate at NASA Ames Research Center and as a Principal Research Engineer at Rao and Associates in Palo Alto, California from 1975 to 1976.
Over a period of 45 years, Professor Agarwal has worked in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Computational Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) and Electromagnetics, Computational Aeroacoustics, Multidisciplinary Design and Optimization, Rarefied Gas Dynamics and Hypersonic Flows, Bio-Fluid Dynamics, and Flow and Flight Control. He is the author and coauthor of over 600 publications and serves on the editorial board of more than 20 journals. He has given many plenary, keynote and invited lectures at various national and international conferences in over 60 countries worldwide.
Professor Agarwal is a Fellow of 23 societies including: American Association for Advancement of Science (AAAS), American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), American Physical Society (APS), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (CSAA), Institute of Pysics (IOP), UK, Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Energy Institute (EI), Australian Institute of High Energetic Materials, Academy of Science of St. Louis, Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), etc. and World Innovation Foundation (WIF). He has received many honors and awards for his research contributions including the ASME Fluids Engineering Award (2001), ASME Charles Russ Richards Memorial Award (2006), Royal Aeronautical Society Gold Award (2007), AIAA Aerodynamics Award (2008), AIAA/SAE 2009 William Littlewood Lecture Award (2009), James B. Prof. Nianyin Zeng is a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at Xiamen University. His main research interests include data intelligence analysis (modeling, learning, optimization, and decision-making) and AI-driven automation (AI applications in aviation, industry, and healthcare). He has led over 20 research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Technology R&D Program of China, and the Fujian Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund. Prof. Zeng has published over 100 SCI papers in leading journals such as IEEE TNNLS, TCYB, TKDE, TII, TMI, and TBME, with more than 20 being ESI highly cited or hot papers. His work has garnered over 10,000 Google Scholar citations, with an H-index of 43. He has edited or contributed to 5 books, textbooks, or chapters and holds 18 authorized national invention patents (including 2 that have been commercialized) as well as 1 group standard.
Prof. Zeng has received numerous science and technology awards, including the Second Prize of the China Invention Association Innovation and Entrepreneurship Achievements Award, the Second and Third Prizes of the Fujian Provincial Natural Science Award, the First Prize of the Chongqing Natural Science Award, and the Second Prize of the Xiamen Science and Technology Progress Award. He has been recognized with titles such as "Nanqiang Outstanding Young Talent" of Xiamen University, high-level talent in both Fujian Province and Xiamen City, key talent in Xiamen City, Fujian Provincial Outstanding Youth, Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies International Scholar Exchange Fellowship recipient, top 2% scientist globally, and a Clarivate Highly Cited Scientist.
He serves as an associate editor, editorial board member, or young editorial board member for 10 journals, including Neurocomputing, Computers in Biology and Medicine, Evolutionary Intelligence, Journal of Electronics & Information Technology, and Journal of Image and Graphics. Prof. Zeng is also a program committee member for several international conferences. He is a review expert for the Wu Wenjun AI Science & Technology Award, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science Centre of Poland, and the National Agency for Research and Development of Chile. Additionally, he is the liaison for the Industry-University Partnership of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, a member of the Youth Working Committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, a member of both the Industrial Internet of Things Technology and Application Committee and the Popularization Work Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation, and a member of the IEEE CIS Task Force on Big Data.
Prof. Bing Li

Biography:
Prof. Bing Li is a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the School of Aeronautics, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and the Director of the Xi'an Key Laboratory of Advanced Aircraft Structural Design and Application. He has been selected for the National-level Youth Talent Program, the Soaring Overseas Scholar Talent Program of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and is an IAAM Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials. In July 2015, he earned his Ph.D. in Science (specializing in Solid Mechanics) from Peking University; from December 2013 to December 2014, he was a joint Ph.D. student at the University of Sydney in Australia; and from September 2015 to August 2018, he served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Akron, USA.
His main research interests include the design of lightweight functional aerostructures, wave dynamics, structural health monitoring, and composite material impact. Prof. Li has published over 40 SCI papers in high-impact journals, such as Compos. Sci. Tech., Compos. Part A, Compos. Part B, Compos. Struct., Phys. Rev. Appl., Phys. Rev. B, Commun. Phys., J. Sound Vib., Appl. Phys. Lett., Int. J. Mech. Sci., and Int. J. Impact Eng. He has co-authored two English books, translated one book, and applied for over ten U.S. and national invention patents. He has led more than ten research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth and General Programs), JKW Fundamental Enhancement, the Aeronautical Science Foundation, and provincial and ministerial key R&D programs.
Additionally, he serves as the Secretary of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Terminology Review Committee, and as a board member of the Chinese Society of Metamaterials. He is also an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Physics, Guest Editor for a special issue of Sensors, and a young editorial board member for International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing, Journal of Materials Science & Technology, Chinese Journal of Applied Mechanics, and Engineering Science and Technology. Prof. Li has chaired international symposia on Aerospace Structural Dynamics (2023) and Aerospace Engineering and Systems (2022, 2023), and has served over 30 times in various roles such as session chair, academic committee member, or invited speaker at both domestic and international academic conferences.

Prof. Xu Long

Biography:
Prof. Xu Long is a faculty member at Northwestern Polytechnical University, serving as a Ph.D. supervisor. He is a Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) and a Senior Member of IEEE. He has been recognized as a young top-notch talent in the "Ten Thousand Talents Program" by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC and is listed among the top 2% of scientists globally.
Prof. Long's main research areas focus on the mechanical properties, life analysis, and reliability evaluation of materials and structures under extreme loads. Prof. Long has led four projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, an international cooperation project under the Shaanxi Provincial Key Research and Development Program, a general project under the Shaanxi Province Natural Science Basic Research Program, a general project under the Guangdong Province Natural Science Foundation, and two projects under the Aerospace Science and Technology Fund. He is also the principal investigator of a Huawei Innovation Research Program, an industry-academia-research cooperation fund project with ZTE Corporation, and over ten technical research and pre-research projects with institutes like China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. As the first or corresponding author, he has published over 80 papers in top international journals in solid mechanics and SCI journals in materials and electronic packaging fields. His work includes seven ESI highly cited papers (including two hot papers), with 19 papers published in Q1 journals and 13 in Q2 journals according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences classifications. He has authored three academic books and serves as an associate editor for the SCI journal CMES, an editorial board member for JPM and IJAMD, and a guest editor for several SCI journals.
